Check a receipt

When one of our observers sends a report or a results form, their phone shows a receipt code. Paste it here to confirm the record is safely stored and has not been changed since.

Why this matters

Every report and results form our observers send is sealed the moment it arrives: each one is linked to the one before it and signed, so changing, adding or deleting anything later breaks the seal for everyone to see. The contents stay private; this page only confirms that a record exists and is untouched.

For observers and journalists: the public snapshots and the parallel tally sample

Every hour we publish a signed snapshot of every record book: how many entries it holds and the fingerprint (SHA-256 hash) of the last one. Save them. If our records ever show a different history up to those counts, they were rewritten, and your saved copy proves it. All snapshots in one file: checkpoints.json. Signing key fingerprint: 308f16f22dc19f57.

Parallel vote tabulation sample

The stations in our parallel tally were chosen at random before polling day from a secret seed. Only this commitment was published in advance: sha256(seed, a newline, sha256 of the sorted station codes). After the polls the seed is revealed, so anyone can rebuild the sample from the public IEBC register (in each county, the stations with the lowest SHA-256 of seed followed by station code) and check it against the commitment.
